Happy 40th Birthday to Garrett Hedlund

Today marks the 40th birthday of Garrett Hedlund, a talented actor and singer who has captivated audiences with his versatile performances on both the big screen and in music. Born on September 3, 1984, in Roseau, Minnesota, Hedlund’s journey to stardom began when he moved to Los Angeles at just 18, quickly landing his first major role in the 2004 epic film Troy as Patroclus, cousin to Brad Pitt’s Achilles.

Hedlund’s breakout role in Troy was just the beginning. He went on to star in a variety of films that showcased his range as an actor. In Four Brothers (2005), he played the youngest of four adoptive brothers seeking revenge for their mother’s murder, and in Eragon (2006), he took on the role of Murtagh, a brooding warrior in a fantasy world. His portrayal of the rebellious Dean Moriarty in the 2012 adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s On the Road further solidified his reputation as a dynamic and compelling actor.
One of Hedlund’s most notable performances came in TRON: Legacy (2010), where he played Sam Flynn, the son of Jeff Bridges’ character from the original TRON film. The movie’s success brought Hedlund widespread recognition and proved his ability to carry a major franchise.
