Planned Parenthood’s “Wicked” Post Sparks Controversy

Planned Parenthood has stirred up controversy with its latest social media campaign, leveraging the popularity of the Broadway musical Wicked. The organization, known for its advocacy of reproductive health, has taken a rather unconventional approach to promoting sexual health awareness.

In a recent Instagram post, Planned Parenthood repurposed the iconic Wicked poster, replacing the original dialogue with a sexually suggestive question. The image now shows Glinda whispering to Elphaba, “Is your discharge green?”

 

The caption accompanying the post reads, “If you’re experiencing wicked sexual and reproductive health care concerns, Planned Parenthood health centers are holding space to help — even if your pussy’s green.”

While some social media users have praised Planned Parenthood for its candid and humorous approach to a sensitive topic, others have criticized the post as inappropriate and offensive.
